Looking back: What we have done in 2010

Website:

·         Conducted user research and wrote web strategy for website redesign

·         Face-lifted  old front page with new design and dynamic elements

·         Developed information architecture and first paper prototype

·         Identified content management system

·         Built second prototype of clickable wireframes http://beta.icarda.org

·         Set up project site http://icarda2.benale.net

·         Hosted Human Computer Interface designer as intern for two months

·         Launched online collaboration area: http://groups.icarda.org

·         Integrated CGIAR project finder http://ongoing-research.cgiar.org/

Social Media

·         Set up two blogs and integrated them with the website

·         Established ICADRA profile on social media platforms: LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Slideshare, Youtube, BlipTV, Flickr, Delicious

·         Published 192 news stories on our two new blogs and sent out 25 tweets

·         Conducted two successful social media campaigns accompanying Climate Change and Food Security conference in Jordan, and in collaboration with Global Wheat Rust conference in St Petersburg

Information & Knowledge Management

·         Set up network of focal points in each department

·         Team leader attended IAALD conference on information management and established collaboration with FAO on content management system, and with ICT-KM on projects database

·         Submitted proposal to GTZ together with CAS-IP to finance internship, which will assist with knowledge audit and Open Access agenda

·         Submitted small grants proposal to BEAF together with GTZ to finance knowledge management  strategy workshop

·         Started work on publishing workflow

·         Team leader attended GTZ annual KM retreat

·         Redeveloped governance of intranet and website, separating responsibilities for content and IT

Capacity Building

·         Webmaster back-stopper attained expert certificate in web design

·         Webmaster back-stopper currently attending advanced web design course

·         Identified trainer for web-team, currently  awaiting sign-off for budget

·         Team leader attended trainings in leadership, teambuilding and knowledge management

·         Trained maintainers to use online collaboration space

Outlook for 1st quarter 2011

·         Conduct knowledge audit

·         Open Access Policy workshop in collaboration with CAS-IP

·          KM strategy workshop in collaboration with GTZ

·         Pending sign-off: train web team in new content management system and implement web design
